What inspired Dog Heaven LLC?

 

For Nita Marie, co-owner and lead marketing director, the journey began with a desire to give back.

After achieving success in her career, she felt called to channel her passion for animals into creating a safe haven for dogs at risk of euthanasia.

 

“Animals have always had a special place in my heart,” Nita shares. “Their loyalty and unconditional love have brought security and connection into my life, and I wanted to create a space where dogs could experience that same sense of safety.”

 

A pivotal moment in Dog Heaven’s story came with Elsa, a wolf-dog rescue. Her arrival was a sign to keep going, reminding us of the profound ways animals touch our lives and connect us to something greater.

A Forever Home, Not a Temporary Shelter

At Dog Heaven, we provide a permanent home for our furry residents. These dogs, often at higher risk if adopted out, find a forever home where they can live freely, loved, and cared for. Currently, we care for 13 dogs, each with their own unique story and personality.

 

This isn’t just a rescue—it’s a place we hope every dog would call heaven.

Connecting with Nature and God

Dog Heaven LLC is a movement; it’s a reflection of our belief that connecting with animals brings us closer to God and the natural world. As Nita explains, “Spending time in nature and with animals grounds us in a way that allows us to connect with deeper wisdom. All living creatures carry a piece of God within them, reminding us of the beauty and unity of creation.”

While we don’t adopt out our dogs, there are many meaningful ways you can join our mission:
